1998-03-23 [[Luis Ramon Campas]] w rtd 3 [[Anthony Stephens]], Foxwoods Resort Casino & Hotel, Ledyard, Connecticut, USA - IBF. Referee: Ron Lipton. Outboxed in the opening round, Campas (152¾) absorbed what was coming his way when taking time to settle, while whacking in the occasional body shot as the challenger worked behind the jab and threw solid right hands. Stepping it up in the third, Stephens (153¼) staggered Campas with a solid right cross before the latter came back with a concentrated attack on the body, digging in punches non-stop. Such was the ferocity of Campas’ attack that Stephens, despite remaining upright, was battered from pillar to post before being retired during the interval after sustaining a dislocated shoulder.
