1998-04-04 Erik Morales w rsc 6 Remigio Molina, Municipal Auditorium, Tijuana, Mexico - WBC. Referee: Guillermo Ayon. Showing excellent skills and aggression to match, Morales (122) dominated the challenger for much of the fight despite Molina (122) going toe-to-toe with him for the first three rounds. Although carrying a swollen right eye from the third, Molina was still dangerous and forced Morales to remain alert. By now though, Morales was showing just what an excellent fighter he had become and in the fifth he downed his rival for ‘seven’ after landing several solid body shots. The end was not far away as Morales picked Molina apart, while his lefts to the body were draining the challenger, and at 2.24 of the sixth the referee came to the rescue.
