1998-05-29 Reggie Johnson w pts 12 Ole Klemetsen, BPA Sports Palace, Pesaro, Italy - IBF. Referee: Sam Williams. Scorecards: 117-107, 115-109, 114-112. Although Klemetsen (174¾) had Johnson (173) down for a mandatory count in the opening round, he was unable to capitalise on it as the southpaw champion came back strongly to take the play away from him. Docked a point in the third for use of the elbow, Klemetsen was then cut over the right eye in the fifth before coming back with some solid rights to the head as Johnson relaxed. In the 11th Johnson was deducted a point for going low and then dropped Klemetsen, who was forced to take another count after being hit below the belt yet again. Despite Klemetsen fighting back strongly in the final session it was too late to make a difference.
