The title changed hands amidst much protestation after Salazar (112) had his jaw broken by a left hook in the eighth round following a clinch and the referee decided to go to the scorecards on the 2.47 mark. Prior to that, the southpaw champion’s nose bled freely from the third, while Sanchez (112) sustained a cut right cheek in the fifth.
