1998-09-18 Luis Ramon Campas w rtd 3 Larry Barnes, Thomas & Mack Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - IBF. Referee: Mitch Halpern. Tossing aside his normal slow start, the champion went to work on the squat Barnes (153½) right from the opening bell, throwing steady combinations to head and body, and the latter’s face was swollen and cut at the end of the first round. Although Barnes tried to put punches together in the second, Campas (153½) was just too strong and after solid body shots got to him in the third and his left eye closed he was retired by his corner during the interval.
