1998-10-24 [[Roberto Garcia]] w rsc 5 [[Ramon Ledon]], Trump Taj Mahal Casino, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - IBF. Referee: Eddie Cotton. Blasted to the canvas by a terrific southpaw left to the head and rocked again after getting up, Garcia (128½) finished the second round bleeding from a cut over the right eye and possibly thinking that his title had already gone. Despite being under further pressure in the third, the champion began to pull himself together in the fourth, even putting the off-balance Ledon (130) down with a body shot before coming right back into it when the latter was seen to be tiring. Twice Ledon was floored in an exciting fifth as Garcia lashed into him with a bombardment of lefts and rights, and when he went down for the second time the referee called it off after 58 seconds of the round had elapsed without even bothering to count.
