1998-12-18 Will Grigsby w pts 12 Ratanapol Sor Vorapin, War Memorial Coliseum, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA - IBF. Referee: Bill Connors. Scorecards: 118-110, 116-112, 118-111. Fighting for the title forfeited by Mauricio Pastrana, Grigsby (107¼) won by boxing to instructions when staying on the outside and picking his punches, mainly jabs and countering blows. The American camp knew that the southpaw, Sor Vorapin (107¾), would look to close in to get his punches off, but in the main he was denied.
