1999-03-13 [[Artur Grigorian]] w pts 12 [[Oscar Garcia Cano]], Hans Hall, Lubeck, Germany - WBO. Referee: Raul Caiz Jr. Scorecards: 120-107, 120-108, 119-108. Making his seventh defence the southpaw champion won every round against the wild, swinging Garcia Cano (133½), but had to maintain his concentration throughout and finished badly marked up. While not boxing at his best, Grigorian (134½) was far too good for the tough Spaniard and following a big second round when he had his man in real trouble it looked all over bar the shouting. However, with Grigorian occasionally taking risks Garcia Cano could never be discounted, especially when landing solid blows that should have been avoided. After the fight Grigorian’s trainer, Fritz Sdunek, stated that his man had made technical mistakes, but it was all down to him trying to entertain the fans.
