1999-04-10 [[Irene Pacheco]] w rsc 9 [[Luis Cox Coronado]], Berran Country Club, Barranquilla, Colombia - IBF. Referee: Gabriel Sanchez. Contesting the title vacated by [[Marc Johnson]], Pacheco (111½), fighting out of a southpaw stance, soon had the measure of Cox Coronado (110¾), and although the latter resisted strongly he proved to be no match for the hard-hitting Colombian. Prior to the contest Pacheco had notched up 23 straight wins, 18 of them coming inside the distance, and in the ninth round he forced Cox Coronado to his knees after landing heavily with a battery of blows to head and body. Having taken terrific punishment throughout, Cox Coronado was really in no position to continue, and it came as no surprise when the referee called the contest off on the 1.25 mark.
