1999-04-10 [[Julien Lorcy]] w rsc 6 [[Jean-Baptiste Mendy]], Bercy Sports Palace, Paris, France - WBA. Referee: Daniel Talon. Boxing with some urgency, the challenger made clear from the opening bell that he meant business and he was soon hammering in combinations that Mendy (134¼), cut over the right eye in the second, seemed to have no answer for. In the third, Lorcy (134) forced Mendy to double up in some pain and although the latter came back with solid southpaw lefts in the fourth he was again under attack a round later when crunching right hands appeared to engulf him. The sixth saw much of the same when a smashing right forced a standing count on the beleaguered Mendy and when another right sent the latter crashing into the ropes the referee called it off on the 2.45 mark.
