1999-05-21 [[Veraphol Sahaprom]] w rtd 5 [[Mauro Blanc]], National Stadium, Sara Buri, Thailand - WBC. Referee: Malcolm Bulner. Right from the start, the challenger, Blanc (117½), who had never previously been beyond eight rounds, was on a hiding to nothing as Sahaprom (118) stalked and jabbed until opening up to floor him with a solid left-right. Saved by the bell, Blanc was treated to more of the same in the fifth and a heavy left put him down for ‘nine’ before the towel was thrown in to save him from further punishment. There was just 13 seconds of the round left.
