1999-06-05 Roy Jones Jr w pts 12 Reggie Johnson, Mississippi Coast Coliseum, Biloxi, Mississippi, USA - IBF/WBA/WBC. Referee: Elmo Adolph. Scorecards: 120-106, 120-106, 120-106. In a battle for three titles, Jones (174) showed far too much speed for the IBF champion, who must have felt that he was being ambushed at times when hit at the rate of five punches to one. Smashed to the floor in the third round by a left hook- right counter, the southpaw Johnson (171) was left cut over the right eye and bewildered at the bell. Surviving that round, Johnson was not dropped again, and although he was in big trouble in the last two sessions as Jones went for a kayo he bravely made it to the finishing line.
