1999-06-05 Vassiliy Jirov w rsc 7 Arthur Williams, The Coliseum, Biloxi, Mississippi, USA - IBF. Referee: Paul Sita. Despite making a reasonable start the champion was soon under duress as Jirov (188) cut him over the right eye in the second round before smashing him to the floor with a long southpaw left to the body in the third. Back in the fight by the fifth it looked as though Williams (188) might have weathered the storm, but in the next session he was once again looking to survive after being hurt again. The seventh then saw Williams floored by a cracking left followed by a right to the body, and on getting to his feet and being battered without reply he was rescued by the referee at 1.59 of the session.
