1999-06-26 Vitali Klitschko w co 2 Herbie Hide, London Arena, Millwall, London, England - WBO. Referee: Genaro Rodriguez. Although Hide (221) took the opening session against the 6’8” Klitschko (245¾) by dint of speedy boxing, the warning signs were already there by the end of the round. Taking the middle of the ring in the second, Klitschko merely waited for the champion to make a mistake and after jumping in and missing the target a couple of times a chopping right put Hide down. Forced to take the mandatory ‘eight’ Hide was soon back in the fray, but having faltered when in position to throw the right he was dropped heavily for the full count on the 1.14 mark after taking a smashing right to the left ear.
