1999-07-31 Erik Morales w rsc 6 Reynante Jamili, The Bullring, Tijuana, Mexico - WBC. Referee: Marty Denkin. It took Morales (122) a couple of rounds to work out his game and awkward challenger and by the fourth he was dominating with solid punches going in to head and body. It was now all one-way traffic and in the sixth a tremendous overarm right caught Jamili (121½) flush on the jaw to drop him for a count of ‘eight’. Although Jamili was on his feet before the count was completed, the referee decided that he’d had enough and stopped the fight two seconds after the round had ended, the bell not being heard above the din.
