1999-10-09 Artur Grigorian w co 5 Michael Clark, The Arena, Oberhausen, Germany - WBO. Referee: Samuel Viruet. After putting Clark (134) down with a solid southpaw left in the first, the champion was expected to finish early. However, the American was no pushover and in the second round he took the fight to Grigorian (134¾) and had fair success, especially at close range, with good rights to the head. Getting some composure back in the third, Grigorian began to slam home long lefts, but in the fourth one of them strayed low and Clark was dropped before being given some time out. When the fight resumed Grigorian was strangely adjudged to have taken a count after slipping over, but in the fifth he went after Clark with a vengeance and having landed an assortment of heavy blows he followed up with a smashing left to the jaw which saw the latter counted out at 1.45 of the session.
