1999-12-04 [[Diego Corrales]] w pts 12 [[John Brown]], Chinook Winds Casino, Lincoln City, Oregon, USA - IBF. Referee: Mark Nelson. Scorecards: 116-112, 117-111, 116-112. Forced to punch down against the 5’3½” challenger made life difficult at times for Corrales (130), who only made the weight at the fourth attempt, and the fight became messy as the pair continually tangled. Although outboxed at distance, Brown (128¾) did a lot better when he could get inside and in the tenth and 11th rounds he got much closer to Corrales, pinning him on the ropes and sending in right handers. However, it was never going to be enough and Corrales picked it up with the jab in the final session to come home an easy, if frustrated winner.
