1999-12-11 [[Randall Bailey]] w rsc 9 [[Hector Lopez]], Grand Hotel, Tunica, Mississippi, USA - WBO. Referee: Fred Steinwinder. Despite being made to look clumsy at times, the champion ultimately had too much power for Lopez (140) and while the latter battled back with left hooks he was unable to do much damage. If he had not concentrated on landing single blows, Bailey (140) could probably have finished earlier and although he had Lopez down in the fifth from a right to the head he failed to follow up any advantage. Eventually, Bailey got into top gear and in the ninth he finally caught up with the rapidly tiring Lopez, who was rescued by the referee after two minutes of the session when struggling to get to his feet, having been dropped by a right to the jaw.
