2000-04-15 Dariusz Michalczewski w rtd 9 Graciano Rocchigiani, Preussag Arena, Hannover, Germany - WBO. Referee: Rudy Battle. Although the southpaw challenger took the second round on all three judges’ cards that was the last one he would win as Michalczewski (175) set the pace and stayed on top despite having to absorb several heavy punches. Rocchigiano (175) never stopped trying, forcing Michalczewski to work, but he fell further and further behind and in the ninth he was dropped for the first time in his career following a left hook to the body. It was clear that Rocchigiano was in trouble when continually protecting his rib cage and he was retired on his stool during the interval.
