2000-09-23 Harry Simon w pts 12 Rodney Jones, The Casino, Rama, Ontario, Canada - WBO. Referee: Mark Nelson. Scorecards: 117-111, 117-111, 114-114. Despite winning clearly on points, Simon (154) disappointed against a journeyman southpaw challenger whom he was expected to deal with in quick fashion, and more often than not was unable to cut the ring down. With Jones (153½) sticking out the jab, occasionally Simon walked straight into one as well as being caught by a number of other punches, but he generally outworked the American to deserve the win. Although two of the judges had Simon winning nine rounds, the third had them dead level, which made you wonder what fight he had been watching.
