Gamez (114¾) captured his fourth title in as many weight classes as he battered Todaka (115) incessantly before unloading a cracking right hand in the seventh to finish the fight on the 2.13 mark. Although Todaka, who sustained a fracture to the left side of his jaw, was out to the world the referee called a halt immediately to allow him the necessary medical attention.
