2001-10-12 Ronald Wright w pts 12 Robert Frazier, Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio, California, USA - IBF. Referee: Jon Schorle. Scorecards: 120-107, 119-108, 119-108. Contesting the title vacated by Felix Trinidad, Wright (153¾), who dropped his man in round one, proved far too good for Frazier (153) when winning the unanimous decision by a wide margin. Starting aggressively, although not as smooth as normal due to him being out of the ring for ten months, having scored the knockdown Wright tried to get the southpaw jab going but had some difficulty in catching up with Frazier, who spent most of his time retreating without even bothering to counter. By the fifth, however, Wright was slotting his right home as Frazier tired, but it was not much of a spectacle and despite taking a pounding in the final session the latter somehow survived.
