2002-03-30 [[Ricardo Mayorga]] w rsc 5 [[Andrew Lewis]], Sovereign Centre, Reading, Pennsylvania, USA - WBA. Referee: Rudy Battle. Following on from their no-decision encounter in July 2001, Mayorga (145½) walked into the southpaw champion from the opening bell throwing crude punches and by the third round it had developed into a wild, hard-slugging affair as both men got drawn in. Although Lewis (147) appeared to be settling down in the fourth, landing solidly at times, he was failing to use the jab enough and in the fifth he was made to pay as Mayorga jumped on him with rights and lefts. Badly hurt by wild combinations, Lewis, it seemed, could not pick up the angles and after a terrific right to the jaw rocked him he was sent crashing by more heavy rights. Struggling to his feet at ‘six’, Lewis was rescued by the referee at 1.08 of the session when unable to focus and being in no fit state to continue.
