2003-03-15 [[Acelino Freitas]] w rsc 4 [[Juan Carlos Ramirez]], UIC Pavilion, Chicago, Illinois, USA - WBA/WBO. Referee: Genaro Rodriguez. A replacement for Gabriel Ruelas, the challenger was soon on the back foot as Freitas (130) began to unleash his bombs from the opening bell. However, early in the second with Ramirez (130) proving adept in getting under the blows coming his way he suddenly opened up with a left hook and the champion was down. Up immediately, Freitas ripped punches into Ramirez who made it to the bell only to be assaulted with venom as the third got underway. Down twice from vicious blows to head and body, Ramirez somehow made it into the fourth where another tremendous battering awaited him. Racing out of his corner, Freitas quickly got down to business and following up some big punches a right uppercut smashed Ramirez down to be rescued by the referee 19 seconds into the session.
