2003-10-18 [[In-Jin Chi]] drew 12 [[Michael Brodie]], MEN Arena, Manchester, England - WBC. Referee: Daniel Van De Wiele. Scorecards: 114-112, 113-113, 113-113. This one was billed for the vacant title following [[Erik Morales]]’ decision to move up a weight. After appearing to be a good winner, Chi (125¾) was later told that one of the cards had been incorrectly added up and the result was a majority draw, due to a mistake over points deductions on the head-clash ruling. The fight itself was superb, with both men giving everything and more, Brodie (126) virtually finishing with both eyes shut and Chi cut above and below the left eye. Brodie was down in the second round and at times looked like being overwhelmed before coming back magnificently, while Chi also proved to be a fighting man who would not take no for an answer.
