2004-02-26 Joan Guzman w rsc 7 Agapito Sanchez, Sports Arena, San Diego, California, USA - WBO. Referee: David Mendoza. In something of a grudge match, Guzman (121¾) went straight on to the attack against his challenger and in the second round two left hooks and a smashing right to the head sent the older man to the floor. From thereon it was all one way as Guzman handed Sanchez (121¾) a real beating and at 1.05 of the seventh the referee, who by then seen had enough, pulled the former champion out of the fight. Sanchez, with both of his eyes badly swollen, had nothing left and the referee’s decision was a wise one.
