2004-04-10 Cory Spinks w pts 12 Zab Judah,  Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBA/WBC/IBF/The Ring. Referee: Joe Cortez. Scorecards: 116-111, 114-112, 114-112. In a clash of southpaws, Spinks (147) outscored his challenger in a contest that was more like a fencing match between very clever tacticians and only really came to life in the last two rounds. Behind on the cards, Judah (146) tried to step it up in the 11th, only to be put down by a countering left to the jaw and although getting up smartly and boxing well for the rest of the session it seemed that he’d lost his chance. Having to win by a knockout, Judah opened up in the 12th and went close on a couple of occasions before ramming in a solid left that dropped Spinks heavily. On his feet at ‘five’ but on unsteady legs, Spinks was forced to take a solid right hook that had him holding on immediately prior to the bell to end the fight.
