2004-04-10 [[Lakva Sim]] w rsc 5 [[Miguel Callist]], Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBA. Referee: Toby Gibson. In a contest to decide the vacant title, the right-handed Callist (135) made a good start when keeping his aggressive rival at bay with a long, accurate jab during the opener and in the second he stepped it up with heavy left uppercuts. The third round saw Sim (133½) getting into the fight for the first time, rocking Callist with heavy combinations, before the latter took over in the fourth when counter-punching to good effect. With Callist back in control, it looked as though he would press on to victory, but Sim had other ideas. Coming out in determined fashion, the hard-punching Mongolian began to hurt Callist with solid combinations to head and body and after dropping the latter and giving him no respite, when back on his feet the referee called it off on the 2.20 mark.
