11 September Veeraphol Sahaprom w pts 12 Cecilio Santos, Chaophraya Dams Ground’s Arena, Chainart Province, Thailand - WBC. Referee: Kodai Kumazaki. Scorecards: 118-110, 119-109, 117-111. Although he started well, winning the opening round on two of the three cards, Santos (117¼) failed to present Sahaprom (118) with any real problems and the champion dictated the way the contest went without exerting himself. The little-known Mexican proved his toughness alright, but apart from that he no idea of how to deal with Sahaprom and took a battering in some of the rounds, especially in the eighth, as the latter made his 14th successful defence.
