2004-11-08 Mahyar Monshipour w rsc 6 Yoddamrong Sithyodthong, Bercy Sports Palace, Paris, France - WBA. Referee: Guillermo Perez. Making his third defence, Monshipour (121¼) was quickly on the attack as he relentlessly set about Sithyodthong (121¾) with hooks and uppercuts and by the third the latter’s right eye was beginning to close. Unfortunately for the Thai, Monshipour was walking through his best punches and in the sixth a cracking left hook to the liver dropped him. On getting up after the mandatory ‘eight’ count and being immediately swamped with punches, Sithyodthong was rescued by the referee at 1.07 of the session.
