2005-03-27 Vic Darchinyan w rsc 8 Mzukisi Sikali, State Sports Centre, Homebush Bay, Australia - IBF. Referee: Pete Podgorski. Starting well, the aggressive champion was soon on the attack with powerful punches to head and body before Sikali (111¾) battled back in rounds three and four with sharp combinations. Both men worked well during the fifth and although Sikali outboxed Darchinyan (112) in the sixth he was wobbled badly from a volley of blows prior to the end of the seventh. From thereon it was all one-way traffic and at 2.28 of the eighth Sikali was pulled out of the contest by the referee after he had shown signs of not wishing to continue.
