2005-04-30 [[Luis Perez]] w rsc 6 [[Luis Bolano]], Madison Square Garden, Manhattan, NYC, New York, USA - IBF. Referee: Pete Santiago. Fighting for the first time in 16 months due to any number of problems, Perez (115) quickly got back into action against Bolano (113¼), banging in jab after jab and cracking in the occasional body punch before dropping his fellow southpaw challenger with a ram-rod jab in the second round. Following this Bolano showed little inclination to make a fight of it and he was put down by another jab in the fifth and then cut under the right eye, prior to being stopped at 2.46 of the sixth after a right hook to the body had sent him crashing.
