2005-10-01 Chris Byrd w pts 12 DaVarryl Williamson, The Events Centre, Reno, Nevada, USA - IBF. Referee: Vic Drakulich. Scorecards: 115-113, 116-112, 116-112. Defending his title for the fourth time, Byrd (213) was up against a former sparring partner in Williamson (225) and it showed, the pair being constantly booed for providing so little action. There were very little good points, with the southpaw champion prepared to go along with the pace of the fight and Williamson, who possessed a good left jab, only interested in using it occasionally. Never properly challenged, Byrd always had points in the bank and only did what he to do in order to preserve his title.
