On 15 July, Javier Castillejo stopped Felix Sturm in the tenth round to take the latter’s WBA ‘second tier’ title at the Color Line Arena, Hamburg, Germany, prior to being handed full title status in November when the WBA decided not to agree to recognise Taylor as their ‘super’ champion any longer. The WBA’s decision was made after Taylor was matched against Kassim Ouma, an opponent who failed to meet their criteria.
