On 22 August 2009 at the SYMA Sport & Leisure Centre, Budapest, Hungary, Juergen Braehmer stopped Aleksy Kuziemski in the 11th round to win the vacant WBO ‘interim’ title and was handed full title status on 13 November 2009, eight days before challenging Italy’s Giacobbe Fragomeni for the WBC cruiser title.
