Abraham relinquished the IBF title on 7 November in order to compete in the ‘Showtime’ super middleweight tournament and [[Sebastian Sylvester]] and [[Giovanni Lorenzo]] were signed up to find a new champion. Sylvester was the IBF international champion, having beaten [[Lajuan Simon]] (w pts 12 at the Max Schmeling Hall on 27 June) on the undercard of Abraham versus Oral, while Lorenzo had beaten [[Dionisio Miranda]] (w co 2 Prudential Centre, Newark, New Jersey, USA on 27 February 2009) in an eliminating contest.

Abraham relinquished the IBF title on 7 November in order to compete in the ‘Showtime’ super middleweight tournament and Sebastian Sylvester and Giovanni Lorenzo were signed up to find a new champion.
