On 21 November at the Sparkassen Arena, Kiel, Germany, Humberto Gutierrez lost the WBC ‘interim’ title when oupointed over 12 rounds by Vitali Tajbert. When Soto vacated the WBC title on 18 March 2010, having decided to move up a division, Tajbert became the fully recognised champion.
