The WBC stated that Rojas, having been appointed ‘champion in recess’ on 28 August, would get first crack at the title once fully fit. Following that, it was announced that [[Hozumi Hasegawa]] and [[Juan Carlos Burgos]] would meet to decide the vacancy.
