Fana forfeited the IBF title on 20 May 2011, having signed up to defend against [[Argenis Mendez]] before pulling out due to not being properly prepared, and the latter was matched against [[Juan Carlos Salgado]] to decide a new champion.

Fana forfeited the IBF title on 20 May 2011, having signed up to defend against Argenis Mendez before pulling out due to not being properly prepared, and the latter was matched against Juan Carlos Salgado to decide a new champion.
