Junior Bantamweight (Super Flyweight) Division

Under pressure from their membership, especially in the Far East, to increase the prospects of the smaller men, the World Boxing Council introduced the 115lbs weight class in December 1979, while it took the World Boxing Association until early 1981 before they recognised the new weight class

2011-12-07 Tepparith Singwancha w pts 12 Daiki Kameda, Prefectural Gym, Osaka, Japan - WBA. Referee: Mark Nelson. Scorecards: 116-112, 119-110, 115-113. A few days later, on 10 December, Liborio Solis outpointed Jose Salgado over 12 rounds at the Fair Stockade, Nayarit, Mexico to win the vacant ‘interim’ title.
