Carter took over Choynski's claim for American 170lbs Title
BBBC Boxing Yearbook 2005
"Choynski reached Carter's jaw with both hands at least twenty times and had the Brooklyn man staggering when the latter made a desperate lunge with his right for Choynski. The blow landed in the pit of Choynski's stomach and doubled him up. Before he could straighten himself out Carter chopped him with right on the jaw. Choynski went down but came to his feet staggering, barely able to hold his hands up. Instead of endeavoring to clinch, Choysnki stood off and began slugging. Carter, who had recovered from the terrible beating he had received, was the stronger and after missing several desparate swings finally landed full right swing on Choynski's jaw. The blow had such force that it lifted Choynski clear off his feet and he went down on top of his head. It was though for a time that he was seriously injured but with the assistance of a physician his handlers brought him to his senses after he had been unconscious fully ten minutes."
