Anderson was disqualified for "not trying." Tacoma News Tribune
The scandal following this fight led to the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC), Southern Area Council to hold a meeting on the matter on November 17, 1947. After hearing the evidence from Anderson, his manager and the promoter, it was decided that Anderson be suspended from all boxing for a period of three months. Anderson's £500 purse was also withheld and donated to the BBBofC Benevolent Fund. Anderson's manager, John Harding, was also fined the sum of £100.
Reported in Boxing News 26 November 1947.
