Referee Jimmy Goodrich counted out Fuller as he sat grimacing on the canvas, clutching his groin and his face twisted in pain. ,Buffalo Times. Johnson was the first winner in State on new rule on low blows. The new rule was adopted to make a win on a foul possible. The fighters are permitted and advised to wear any sort of protection device, even wire mesh or steel plate to save themselves from injury by a low blow, but with an additional warning that a boxer going to the floor from such a blow must be counted on and out. That is what happened to Fuller. Buffalo Courier
