Chicago Stadium, Chicago, Illinois, USALKO410
"Winston was more than holding his own in the first three rounds. Midway in the fourth Maurice landed a hard to the head, which made Winston angry and he tore into Strickland, landing punches to the stomach and forcing Maurice to the ropes. Then the Unknown switched his attack and landed his own right to Strickland's chin and Maurice dropped to his knees. The New Zealander was hurt and he acted like he was in a tranced. He tried to get up but couldn't make it." (Chicago Tribune, Bob Soderman)
