Rocco rushed Davies, who went flying through the ropes, and hit his head on the side of the ring "with such force that he was not only unable to continue, but was 'out' for some time afterward." The Globe. This could have been a TKO, but was ruled no contest. Part of the fifth round of the Shamrock A.C.'s world flyweight elimination tournament.

This was part of the third round of a world flyweight elimination tournament sponsored by the Shamrock Athletic Club, with the winner to meet Eugene Huat. There was a companion flyweight elimination tournament being held by Tom McArdle in New York at this time. Toronto's Globe newspaper reported that Tex Rickard had started a world fly tourney earlier in New York City, but he did not finish it due to the small crowds. Toronto, however, always had drawn big crowds for the "little guys."
