1918-08-24Frankie Haynie9-1-3
Palomar Pavilion, Manila, Metro Manila, PhilippinesLTKO710
Although in very good shape and putting up a "wonderfully aggressive fight under conditions and odds that were almost hopeless, LaGrave went down to defeat. Haynie finally floored him in round seven and the referee stopped the fight. Haynie..is the most wonderful boy (he is only 19) who has ever appeared in a Manila club." LaGrave and his wife returned to California after this fight.
1918-07-27Battling Sanchez8-3-4
Palomar Pavilion, Manila, Metro Manila, PhilippinesWTKO510
LaGrave handed out severe punishment to Sanchez, who outweighed him by 15 pounds. Finally, in the fifth round, Anton put his man down with a single terrific wallop. Sanchez arose at the count of nine, but was in such bad shape that the referee stopped the fight. LaGrave impressed with his ability to avoid Sanchez's blows with head movements."
1918-06-22Stanley Jones13-14-22
Palomar Pavilion, Manila, Metro Manila, PhilippinesLPTS1010
Although he looked to be in better shape than in his previous meeting with Jones, LaGrave did not make nearly so good a fight this time. Anton couldn't seem to get started and suffered a knockdown in the 5th round. Jomes got in the best stretch of infighting in the 7th round. (From the Manila Daily Bulletin)
1918-05-25Ray Pelkey3-1-1
Palomar Pavilion, Manila, Metro Manila, PhilippinesWTKO710
LaGrave was recovered from a recent illness and gave Pelkey a good licking. However, the much bigger Pelkey "handed out plenty to LaGrave, who stood the gaff to get in his licks." Although landing plenty of blows, Pelkey seemed to not be able to hurt LaGrave. Pelkey was being billed as "Joe" Pelkey, but this is the same man as "Ray Palkey"of later times.
1918-04-20Sammy Good31-12-29
Palomar Pavilion, Manila, Metro Manila, PhilippinesLPTS1010
Good used his superior speed and boxing ability to run up a big lead in the early rounds. La Grave, who appeared to be somewhat overweight, improved as the fight went along. He didn't seem phased by Good's blows and inflicted considerable body punishment to Good, but he had fallen too far behind to pull out a victory.
1918-04-06Stanley Jones13-14-21
Palomar Pavilion, Manila, Metro Manila, PhilippinesDPTS1010
Orient middleweight title
The Manila Daily Bulletin reporter gave Jones 5 rounds, LaGrave 4, and one even. LaGrave was better at the infighting, but carried too much weight and tired in the later stages of the fight. he draw decision was not a bad one.
