Watson died of injuries sustained in this fight
In the 10th round Watson was knocked down by a right, rose, but fell backwards striking his head on the boards. He died while being counted out. An inquest held at Stepney Coroners Court found death was due to concussion of the brain due to diffusion of blood from a lacerated artery. A verdict of accidental death was recorded. Purse was £7 to Watson, £9 to Inglis with £1 expenses.
