Phil Hewitt of Denver Post scored it 5 rounds for Auerbach, four for LeRoy, and one even. Hewitt reported, "It looked for a time in the early stanzas as if LeRoy would slip the well known haymaker across, but Herman was too strong, and his weight advantage, starting to tell from the fifth frame on, had the better of the milling."

Laurel Garden, Newark, New Jersey, USALDQ810
Fargo Forum: "The (foul) claim seemed to be unjust, for there were few, if any, who saw the Dakotan strike the alleged low blow. LeRoy had a big advantage at the time of the claim. Examination after the bout failed to disclose any semblance of a low blow. McFarland, however, maintained his statem3ent and refused to continue." The Newark Star-Eagle agreed that LeRoy fouled McFarland and was well ahead on points when the fight ended.

1926-08-20Jimmy Goodrich63-15-14
Ebbet's Field, Brooklyn, New York, USALPTS88
Fargo Forum (New York, Aug. 20-AP): "The decision was unpopular and it was LeRoy who received the ovation from the crowd after boos had greeted the verdict of the officials. In the estimation of newspapermen at the ringside, LeRoy won a majority of the rounds, although Goodrich finished the stronger of the two with a game rally in the final round. ...LeRoy, who won a two round knockout victory over Ritchie Roberts last night (8/19), took the fight on three hours' notice, and is much in favor with boxing fans here following the showing he made against the former titleholder tonight."

1926-01-14Pinky Mitchell12-9-4
Fargo Auditorium, Fargo, North Dakota, USALNWS1010
referee: Johnny Salvatore
Mitchell won the newspaper decision, according to the Portland Oregonian and Fargo Forum. Jack Hurley promoter. Note: LeRoy trained to come in under 140 pounds so that if he knocked Mitchell out he could claim Junior Welterweight Championship. Mitchell didn't care what his own weight was. The Forum reported that LeRoy won the first four rounds, rounds five and six were even, and then Mitchell won the last four rounds as his nine pound weight advantage began to exert itself. LeRoy was knocked down in the sixth and tenth rounds and those two knockdowns were enough to give Mitchell a "scant edge" in the scoring.

1925-10-01Battling Krause25-10-1
Grand Forks, North Dakota, USALDQ410
referee: Johnny Knauf
Fargo Forum: "The fourth and concluding round was easily the best of the affair. They met in mid-ring and started trading lusty wallops. Krause landed twice on LeRoy's head with a left and Russie then went under and drove a vicious right to the ribs that made the Battler wince. Russie, sensing his advantage, tore in like a madman, pitching hefty blows from every angle. The Battler's head bobbed and twisted and he was in a semi-dazeed condition when LeRoy cornered him. Krause crouched low in a half sitting posture on the middle rope of the ring. LeRoy, also in a crouch, sprang in to finish his foe and sent the left uppercut over that ended the fray...Jack Hurley, LeRoy's manager believing that LeRoy had scored a knockout, waived his charge to a neutral corner. When Hurley saw Knauf (the referee) raise Krause's hand, he leaped into the ring in a rage and launched a vigorous attack in the general directon of Knauf. Spectators and seconds soom were busily engaged in hammering each other lustily and a special squadron of police was called to restore order. None of the prominent participants in the brawl were injured to any extent."

Newspaper decision in favor of Hudkins from the Lincoln Evening State Journal. In view of the fact that one Sioux City paper gave LeRoy a clear edge and the other Sioux City paper called it a draw, but leaned toward a "hairline decision" for LeRoy, it seems fair to call it a win for Leroy.
