(Washington Post) Official decisions were given in Cleveland at this time. Per Syracuse daily Journal"Twelve fast rounds were boxed In Cleveland Friday night by Paddy Lavln of Buffalo and Willie Lewjs of New York. The men met at 148 pounds. It was a no-decision contest, but the newspaper onlookers seemed to agree that Lavin had a shade the better of it."
1912-02-08Jack Dillon32-1-5
Convention Hall, Buffalo, New York, USALNWS1010
"Dillon gave the Buffalo champion an awful lacing, dropping him in the seventh with a right under the heart, driving him though the ropes twice and bulging him up about head and body with the force of his wallops. Dillon waded into Lavin's cleverness from the first tap of the bell, shattered his defense and shook off Paddy's blows with as little effort as though fighting a lightweight. He ripped terrific lefts and rights to Paddy's body in the first round and Paddy was in distress continually after the third. Lavin's fast left bothered Jack only in the opener. After that he brushed it aside or knocked it down, while those who had seen other men unable to avoid Lavin's left sat in amazed silence as the Indianapolis bearcat brushed right through Paddy's guard and actually outboxed him."
