Giosa, a 4-1 underdog, led Williams for the first two rounds. At the end of the third, as the bell rang, Giosa dropped his arms and turned to go to his corner. Williams let go a right that dropped Giosa, he got up and went to his corner. His manager, Fats Garry, asked for time, but the referee told him there was no rule that would let him do that. Garry would not let his boxer return to the fight. New York Times
